My Organization is a small enterprises having 35 users. Through cabled IP-VPN Data network (256KB per location), they login to the Central Application/DB Server from 3 geographical locations. The Central Server with Trial version of WIndows2008 R2 and Hyper-V has two(2) Foxpro Software and two(2) .Net Software applications installed by 3 Software Vendors, and on live run.
There are about 5 Remote users using Desktop APPS to access Software in the Central Server. We have a very strict IT budget of $1,500 to purchase Server O/S.
(1) Is it economical to purchase SBS-2011 with total 10-CAL or Windows 2008R2/5 User CALs with additional 5 RDS User CALs ?
(2) Does it require to purchase RDS CAL for SBS-2011 or just only the User-CAL ?
(3) What do you suggest over choosing Windows-2008R2 and SBS-2011 for US$1,500/- limited budget.
Thanks & Regards,
Shanith F.
Our organization has offices in both US and China. Currently we want to allow 20 people remote access to one of our servers in US office which is Window 2008 standard computer. They only perform simple Web browsing. Now my concern is which CAL should I need to purchase? Only the Window 2008 RDS CALs or not? Another concern is if purchasing CAL(s), should we purchase it in US because the server is in US office? Could you also provide me the price list of CALs to me? Thanks.
Regards,
Kan
